Under the direction of Anthony S. Cassino, Executive Director, the administrative departments are as follows:

Human Resources: HR plays an integral role in the life cycle of your employment with the Firm, from recruiting, hiring and orientations, to secretarial and legal assistant assignments and all employee relations issues for administrative staff. Additionally, the benefits department provides you with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, group life, supplemental life insurance, retirement plan, short and long term disability (including a salary continuation benefit), an EAP Program, FSA and Transit Programs.

Legal Secretaries: Legal Secretaries are an integral part of the Firm's daily activities. Secretaries can expect to support anywhere from 3 to 5 attorneys in any one specific department or cover long-term and daily absences as one of the Firm's floaters. The skill set of our secretaries is top-notch, consistently being improved and further developed through our training programs.

Legal Assistants: Legal assistants are instrumental to the work that Thacher Proffitt does. Working with attorneys and directly with clients,Thacher Proffitt's legal assistants are challenged on a daily basis. Their work is stimulating, meaningful and critical to our success.

Training: An integral component is our full-time training team that provides valuable insight into the systems, software programs and workflow processes that streamline our technologically sophisticated workplace. Top-ranked among law firms, our training team conducts regularly scheduled classes and personalized one-on-one sessions, and they’re happy to answer “How do I” questions.

Finance: This department manages all financial and accounting matters for the Firm, including time and billing, financial reporting, collections and more. It is organized into three units: Financial Operations, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and Financial Systems.

Marketing: Public Relations. Business Development. Special Events. Client Data. Brochures. Presentations. Newsletters. The website. The Marketing Department serves the broad, integrated marketing needs of the Firm.

Information Technology: The backbone of our Firm is the cutting-edge technology and tools that serve the changing needs of our clients and the attorneys who counsel them. The IT Department maintains the hardware and software that keep us connected. They also oversee the Help Desk function and develop customized technology solutions, where applicable.

Records Management: Thacher Proffitt has one of the most sophisticated and state-of-the-art record-keeping systems among law firms today. Members of this department ensure that every file and document generated is catalogued and accessible within a few clicks. They also conduct conflict reviews.

Word Processing: To support the fast pace of our Firm, the Word Processing Department conducts document updates, proofreading and other invaluable services.

Library: From online tools to traditional resources found in print, the Library purchases, catalogues and distributes law books, periodicals, research tools and much more.

Facilities: While the day’s work gets done, Facilities maintains the appearance and mechanical operations of our multi-location workplace.
